  13.      In his book of 1957, entitled, "The Flying Saucer
  14. Conspiracy", Donald Keyhoe also mentioned some rather
  15. indicting news on pages 200-201: "On 2nd February, while
  16. visiting Bogota, Columbia, William P. Lear manufacturer of
  17. aircraft and electronic equipment, told a news conference
  18. that the flying saucers are real". "When Lear's story was
  19. flashed to the United States by the AP, it was a hard blow
  20. for the UFO censors. But this was only the beginning. Within
  21. twenty-four hours Lear amplified his first statement: 'I
  22. feel the flying saucers are real', he said, 'because of four
  23. points'. First, he said, there have been numerous
  24. manifestations over long periods of time. Second, many
  25. observations have been made simultaneously by reliable
  26. observers. Third, there are great possibilities linked with
  27. the theory of gravitational fields. Fourth, there are now
  28. serious efforts in progress to prove the existence of anti-
  29. gravitational forces and to convert atomic energy directly
  30. to electricity". "This new AP story dismayed the Pentagon,
  31. for it could easily disclose our top-secret research to
  32. duplicate the UFO's propulsion. There had already been one
  33. hint despite Pentagon precautions. During a meeting of
  34. aviation leaders in New York, on the 25th of January, G.S.
  35. Trimble, vice-president of advance design for the Glenn L.
  36. Martin Aircraft Company, had made an amazing disclosure...
  37. "Unlimited power, freedom form gravitational attraction, and
  38. infinitely short travel time are now becoming feasible', he
  39. told the press. Then he added that eventually all commercial
  40. air transportation would be in vehicles operating on these
  41. fantastic principles".

  50.    Bill Lear, John's dad was totally responsible for the
  51. research and development of "carbon fiber" airplane
  52. construction, or better said both identified and
  53. unidentified flying craft of many types.
  54.    This can explain both his purported "interest" in UFO
  55. vehicles while he was alive, and now his son's widely
  56. distributed "opinion".
  57.    If there are alien vehicles in our governments
  58. possession, Bill Lear most certainly was apprised and was
  59. able to closely inspect them or it. The stealth
  60. helicopter's, fighter's and bomber's airframes and
  61. fuselage/skins etc., are a direct result of Bill Lear's
  62. innovation. Bill Lear's research was made available to
  63. Northrup etc., early in the game. How much does a father
  64. tell a son? In this case it's hard to tell.

  73.      I agree, you're quite right about the tachyons hypothetical structure, 
  74. but my point was not the structure of the particle itself, it was to
  75. illustrate the point that hyper-optical speed IS theoretically possible.

  85.      Maybe I can help you on the freefall toward a large mass....although 
  86. your body would lack "weight" the mass of your body would still fall into
  87. the curved space that represents the planet, whatever.  As your body nears
  88. the large mass, the curvature (gravity) increases, "pulling" you faster. 
  89. Think of it like rolling down a hill.
